Sales!
We all love sales, but sometimes we get carried on and buy things that we don't need or that we never use.
To avoid that, I leave you here some tips on how to shop during sales.
If you get to the stores when they are opening you have more chances to find good things, because the store is clean. The later you go, the bigger the mess!
You really don't need everything you see at a good price, right? It is tempting, I know! But if you make a list of the items you need you will see that it gets much easier to shop.
- Items with an imperfection
Well, as you know during this sale season everybody touches every piece of clothing, so they may lose a button for example. You can make a good deal out of it. Just talk to one of the employees, show them the missing button, say you still want to buy the piece and ask for them to lower the price. Many stores do that.
Don't buy! If you are wondering whether you should buy it or not, don't. If you are second guessing yourself it's because maybe you don't need it.
- Check online stores first
I like to shop online but sometimes I also like to go into the stores and touch the pieces, feel the fabrics and try them on. When sale shopping take a look on the online stores. That way you can compare between stores and know what you are going to look for in a specific store.
Timeless pieces, the basics are always boring to shop for. I know, the new season ones are much prettier... But basics are essentials in every wardrobe! Investing in good basics during the sales is my biggest advice.
You know when that amazing dress is at an amazing price? Tempting, right? But wait, think twice... Is that a dress that you are going to wear often or just twice in your life? If you just wear it twice the investment may not be that good after all. Think of the price and how many times you are going to wear it.
Shop for things that you are going to wear. If you don't practice any sport why are you looking at those sneakers? (I know, the price is tempting) If you don't have a huge even, why are you trying on that gown? It's not worth it. Only shop for things that you really need and use. That way you will buy more things that you really need and less of the ones that just take space in your closet.
Before going out to shop clean your closet. See what you are missing, what you have and don't wear (give them to charity or to someone you know who can't afford new clothes, they will be grateful). With a clean closet you will have an easier time while shopping.
Do you buy things you don't need? Or do you pick carefully what you buy?
Do you do any of the things I mentioned? Tell me everything, I would love to know your tricks for sale shopping!
Really great post! :)
